Poster I'll probably never get to use for the graduate art exhibition because no one seemed to like the propagandist motif. Oh well. Maybe I just fail at pitching ideas, so into my senior portfolio this goes.
The whole idea behind the concept is to promote art and make the public aware of the role of graphic designers as artists and promote artistic expression in a very "in-your-face" sort of way - for too long, the growth of art has been stunted because the general populace takes the art community for granted. Artists here are often taken advantage of, not respected at all, or otherwise treated as money-making machines.
The propARTganda poster's motif is based on and inspired by old war propaganda posters, due to their bold appearance. In the event that the project is successfully carried out, every student will be required to dress in nothing but red and black, plus a propARTganda tie. Appropriate music will also be played.
But this flopped like a dead fish anyway so ha-ha.
It's a good design. I don't seen anything wrong with the design. I think it just might not have fit the overall theme of the art exhibition. You would definitely have to find a target demographic for this design 'cause not everyone would like it's aggressive overtones.
